GCUOF Hosts On-Campus Markets this Fall
With a forecast of weekend frost, Thursday, September 29may be the last chance to buy tender crops at the On-Campus Farmers’ Market. The market, hosted by the Guelph Centre for Urban Organic Farming (GCUOF), will take place at Branion Plaza near the Cannon in the heart of the U of G from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
The market features certified organic produce grown by U of G students at the GCUOF, and offers peppers, heirloom tomatoes, carrots, garlic, raspberries, fingerling and blue potatoes and watermelons, along with fresh herbs and bouquets of flowers. GCUOF introduced its first on-campus market on September 15, this year. Frost notwithstanding, the markets will run every Thursday afternoon as long as the harvest continues.
